Origin & recognition
Code for Good was founded on the belief that artificial intelligence can be a force for good. The journey began in 2019, when our founders Koen Looijmans and Simon Lit started developing AI solutions for international enterprises. From the company World of Content, we built advanced AI models that helped multinationals optimise their processes and accelerate growth. This technological expertise and innovative approach led to European recognition in 2021: we were named “one of the most promising AI start-ups in Europe” by the appliedAI Institute for Europe (Germany), Hub France IA, Ignite Sweden, AI Sweden, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and the Netherlands AI Coalition (NL AIC).

From growth to meaning
In 2022, our previous software company was acquired by a German technology company following a €70 million investment round. As we continued developing AI solutions, it became increasingly clear that technology can do more than maximise profit: it can contribute to structural progress. With that conviction, in 2024 we founded Code for Good with the same AI team, but with a new mission: to use technology to help move the world forward. Today we build AI solutions that not only make organisations more efficient, but also give them full control over their data and digital processes. We develop technology based on open standards, without lock-ins, so businesses can operate independently and truly keep their digital assets in their own hands. With every project, we strengthen our clients' digital sovereignty and create a foundation on which they can grow and innovate autonomously.
